Q. Why do we need this Sports Complex?

A. Our community is severely lacking in recreational facilities. The existing number of fields (and courts) for softball/baseball, basketball, and tennis are inadequate to meet the growing demands of the community. Adding a swimming pool to this sports complex would provide many new activities to the public and students.  

Q. Who is paying for this facility and what is the school doing to help?

A. Funding will be from public and private grants, donations, and fund raisers. Bret Harte High School is providing the land, rough grading and design of the facility.

Q. What is being built?

A. A complete, modern sports and recreational facility to meet present and future needs of the community. The plan includes basketball and tennis courts, softball and baseball diamonds, soccer fields, swimming pool, classrooms and support buildings.

Q. What is the position of the City of Angels and Calaveras County on this project?

A. Both the City and the County have pledged their support in the project.

Q. Who will have access to this facility?

A. Similar to existing school facilities, the new complex will be accessible to the public.

Q. Who will manage and maintain the facility and organized functions.

A. Bret Harte High School will manage the master schedule and maintain the facility.
